Intermed is pleased to announce that it is now offering new ALLPRO Digital
Imaging Systems to Podiatrists in conjunction with X-ray Repair & Sales of
Ocala, Florida. In particular, the ScanX® 12 is ideally suited
for use in the Office Setting.
The ScanX® 12 is a computed radiography system that replaces film
and intensifying screens. Instead, the x-ray views are created by exposing
phosphor storage plates (with the Doctor's existing x-ray machine) that are
coated with an x-ray sensitive phosphor material. The plates store latent
images after being exposed that can be scanned into a computer within 35
seconds using the ScanX®. After that, the Doctor is free to
enhance the image with the certified ScanX®
imaging software to aid in diagnosis. The refined images can then be saved
on a computer for easy retrieval and conservation of office space. The
plates are cleared by the in-line eraser after the images are down-loaded
making them ready for re-exposure.
The
advantages of the ScanX® 12 Imaging System are:
-
The Doctor no longer has to deal with
film, chemistry, processing maintenance or duplicating film.
-
The ScanX® 12 saves space
by only having a 14" x 14" footprint.
-
Full screen and split screen images can be viewed in
35 seconds from the time the plate is inserted into the ScanX®
12.
-
The images can then be enhanced with
regard to brightness and contrast and linear and angular measurements can be
made of the shadowed structures with the ScanX® Software.
-
With network monitors in each
treatment room, these images can then be made readily available to educate patients quickly
and thoroughly with regard to diagnosis and treatment plans.
-
ScanX® 12 saves time and
space with easy digital file storage and archiving. The Doctor can retrieve
and review a patient's x-rays, send them to a colleague over the internet, or
burn a copy on CD/DVD at the push of a button
-
Radiographic technique is consistent
with green sensitive film. Users of blue sensitive film can reduce exposure
by over 50%.
The ScanX®
12 has a footprint 14" x 14" and is 28" high with a
weight
of
55 lbs. It requires a 115V, 60 Hz power source. The unit is considered a
Class 1 Laser Device that complies with FDA HHS 21 CFR 1040.10 and IEC
60825-1. Phosphor Storage Plates can be purchased in 8" x 10" and 10" 12"
sizes. The power cord and computer connector cord are included although the
software must be purchased separately.
Computer System requirements include a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4
and a Windows 2000 Service Pak 4 (or later), or Windows XP Professional
Service Pak 1a (or later) operating system. The computer should also have at
least 1 GB of RAM, a 120 GB Hard Drive and a 48x CD ROM Drive. The graphics
card or chip should have access to 32 MB of Video RAM and the computer
must have a USB port 1.1 or higher. A
Back-up Device and Surge Protector are recommended.
These high
end x-ray image processing systems will become the standard in the field
sooner than later. Feel free to call or write if you have any questions and
let us know how we can help. Ask for Mark or Sue.
